In this paper we use the incidence-fidelity index (IF) to identify critical networks in the speech of people who are part of Narcotics Anonymous in the city of Salvador-Bahia. Language was studied from the perspective of complexity and was modelled through semantic networks. From the collected data, the individuals were classified as beginners, intermediate and experienced. For the speeches chosen, the results show that IF values for critical networks are in agreement with previous studies. These networks allow interpretations of discourse by network indices and visual inspection. Differences in networks reflect cognitive-behavioural differences between individuals.
