Abstract

This paper shows how convergence in the technological, professional, content and business dimensions (Salaverría, 2003, 2010) has been fundamental in overcoming the difficulties imposed by COVID-19 in the productive routines of Brazilian sports journalism. It is based on an analysis of the SporTV channel, which is the leader in terms of viewership among sports channels and was the first in the country to broadcast a programme completely adapted to be broadcast from the participants' homes during the pandemic. The research technique used was a case study based on content analysis and interviews.

Caroline Patatt, Universidade da Beira Interior

Caroline Patatt is a Brazilian journalist, a researcher at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in Portugal and a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at the University of Beira Interior (UBI). She is currently studying sports journalism, with a particular interest in the objectification of women in the field.
