Abstract

The paper deals with networks of master's thesis titles in mathematics in Brazil. The analysis uses semantic networks of titles (SNT) to qualitatively and quantitatively characterize the networks. Forty-one course of master's degrees were selected and the SNTs were constructed using the approach based on cliques in which the title words are mutually connected. The Louvain method (algorithm) was applied to detect word communities. The networks were characterized and grouped by geographic region, which led to infer distinctions between regions based on the regularity or not of the word groups.
