Abstract

We have analysed the evolution of corporate social responsibility in Ecuador over the last three decades, following the theories of Garriga and Melé. We gathered information through interviews with representatives of organisations that work or have worked on the promotion of corporate social responsibility in Ecuador, a thorough review of digital, bibliographic and business reports on the web. As a result, we were able to verify a progressive advance in terms of instrumental theory, political and integration theories, and ethical tendencies, focusing on communal welfare.
